We are planning for a component upgrade in our environment. Our current environment is Windows 2008 R/2 and DB as SQL 2005 - ECC 6 with SP Basis 8 - NUC and we planned to upgrade to EHP6.
I have downloaded the master / upgrade guides and ensured PAM as well. So as a first activity, we will upgrade our DB to SQL 2008 through out the landscape to meet the prerequisite (EHP6 is not supported for 2005 - Understood from PAM)
However, similarly is there any support package level do I need to maintain in the source system before I am starting the SUM or SUM will calculate the patch level required along with when doing an EHP upgrade ( Current level in my systems : Basis 700 SP 8). The statement is mentioned in the SUM guide (Below screen shot states the same) - However, I just wanted to make sure that my understanding is correct.
